One day, Imam Musa Kazim (as) was passing by a house. He heard voice of singing and dancing from that house. Imam (AS) asked the maid who came out of the house: O maid! Is the owner of this house freeman or a slave? The maid said: He is a freeman. The Imam said: You are right. If he had been a slave, he would have been afraid of his master. When the maid returned home, her boss, Bushr al-Hafi, was sitting at the wine table. The maid told him about the meeting with Imam Musa Kazim (as) and what he said. Bashar ran barefoot, hurried himself to Imam’s service, apologized and wept, expressing his displeasure and repented through Imam (AS).
The indirect words of the Imam (as) created a spiritual revolution in Bushr to such an extent that he became one of the ahl e maarifat.
